Schaeffler Group China took part in the “6th International Exhibition of Inventions” held in Suzhou International Exhibition Center and in the ”Exhibition on Scientific and Technical Achievement” held in Taicang, a major event of “Common Progress of Germany & China – 2008 Taicang Week”.
“The Sixth International Exhibition of Inventions” focused on "energy-saving, emission reduction, providing service to agricultural, countryside, and famers.” 800 booths were set up to display latest technological invention and innovation achievement, including high-tech products in the fields of new energy, information network, bio-engineering, new materials etc. The exhibition also organized negotiations for outstanding national invention projects to promote the transformation of technical achievement to foster the sustainable development of our national economy and society. Schaeffler displayed exhibits such as ball screw support bearings, maintenance-free ELGES spherical plain bearings, SAC self-adjusting clutches and other products. Tian Lipu, director of State Bureau of Intellectual Property Right, visited Schaeffler’s booth and inquired on the progress Schaeffler made in terms of intellectual property rights.
In the Exhibition on Scientific and Technical Achievement held in Taicang stadium, more than 100 German-funded companies from Taicang and surrounding areas showcased their cutting-edge technology. The exhibition covered high-tech fields such as precision machining, auto parts manufacturing, new building materials etc. Schaeffler’s exhibits not only included the ball grinding machine, invented in 1883 by the founder of FAG, but also light joint units, X-life spherical roller bearings etc., applied in automotive and industrial arena (products?).
As an important component of “Common-progress of Germany & China - 2008 Taicang Week”, Exhibition on Scientific and Technological Achievement has attracted many local residents to visit.
